The poetry discussion lesson started off with an interesting activity using a wordle we had to put the words in the wordle into two separate groups which were, the terms we were 100% sure about and the words we were not so sure about.
The Introduction to the lesson, was a really well thought out way of helping us learn the words which we weren't to sure of. If our partner knew a word which we didn't they would explain it to us until we understood it correctly. Once we understood the words we wrote the words we both weren't to sure about on a separate piece of paper and pinned them to the board.
Then the whole class joined in and the words which were on the board and no one knew we took 3 or 4 down each and researched there meanings. When we had finished researching we walked around the class room and we told any one person what was on our card and what it meant for example 'Haiku' which is made up of 3 lines of 5, 7 and 5 syllables. After we had told them the meaning they had to then repeat what we said in order to receive our card.
Overall I thought that the lesson was fun and also found I learnt quite a lot of new word meanings. Also it was good getting to work as a whole class where everyone could join in.
