01/02/2012 - Friday Reflection
This week during English, I only had one lesson due to holidays and going away for International Award. During the lesson we caught up on reading chapters in the novel 'Never Let Me Go', whilst also finishing off our literature circles. I believe I contributed a lot to my literature circles group as when we discussed, I came up with valid points as to why certain situations may have occurred in the novel, such as why they believed they had found Ruth's 'Possible'. Overall, I hope to catch up on the work that we missed this week due to holidays and International Award and progress further.

25/01/2013 Friday Reflection
This week during English we started to learn about poetry acronyms. For Example 'SMILE' which stands for Structure, Meaning, Imagery, Language and Effect allows you to keep these aspects in your mind whilst writing a poem or even an essay. It gives you something to start with, if you don't know where to begin. I believe that these acronyms will come in useful when it comes down to writing a real analysis of a poem in the exam, as we can refer to these acronyms.
We decided to make our own acronyms in groups using words which we though would help us remember what we need to include whilst writing a poem my groups was 'MOTELSRAP'. I was extremely proud of my contribution to the group when coming up with this name as my group felt that they would be able to remember this. Therefor I felt as though I provided my group with a basis to work on when they need to write a poem. I also believe this acronym has helped me a lot as well, as I will remember it and use it as a guideline to writing or analyzing a poem.
At first I felt as though I would need to improve on my Analysis of poems, but after creating this acronym I feel more confident and understand how to improve my analysis's. I need to link the poem to the acronym and discuss how they link. I intend to achieve this by writing the acronym down before starting to analyze any poem or article.
Overall this week was a success and I would like to know more about how I can keep on improving my analysis skills.

Starter Chapter 11 - Sex
- How much do you talk to your friends or family about sex? Occasionally, it is mostly based on the topic of contraception with my family though and staying safe from diseases etc... I mainly talk about the 'fun' side with my friends as we joke around.
- How important are the issues of sex to a teenager in your experience? They are extremely important so we get to understand how to stay more safe.
- How do you differentiate between sex and sexuality? What are the different issues connected to each one? Sex is more directed towards the action so it is based on age, yet sexuality or sexual orientation is religion or something along those lines.
- Do you think 'sex' is an open topic in your social circle or is it very much taboo? Yes, I believe it is an open topic in my social circle as people tend to be interested in the topic.
- Whatever your response, do you think this is the best way for your social circle to be? Yes, I do as to I can talk about anything and also we can learn from each other.
- Do you think sex outside of marriage is OK? Explain your answer. Yes, because I believe you wouldn't want to go into a marriage and not enjoy the sex.

Friday reflection January 4th 2013
During English this week we only had two
lessons, therefore we used that time to work on our site. For example improve
the layout and add the rest of the information needed on to Trello. I have
developed sit managing skills, these will help in the future if we need to ad
or delete anything from the site. I am proud of my contribution to the site due
to the fact that I added images and text to different areas. I need to improve
on my summarizing skills.
I believe I can do this by doing practice summaries
on each chapter even if it’s not my role on that specific week.
Overall this week was well used I believe
because we really needed to get the site organized and running, in order for us
to be able to work on our classes study guide.

Friday - November 23rd refletion
This week during English we started to learn more about poems, and how to dig deeper, in order to find the real meaning behind what the poet, or speaker is trying to put across. We used our group skills, by discussing the poems and questioning each other on personal opinions. We also practiced our reading and understanding skills, because we had to read each poem over and over again in order to find the real meaning behind the poem. I have developed on my skill to read in between the lines, because I'm starting to imagine all of the possible scenarios and once linked, finding my solution to what the poet is trying to tell us.
I am proud of my contribution to group and class discussions this week, because others who disagree give me all valid reasons as to why I should change my mind or their views help me really put the pieces of the puzzle together. I would like to improve on my skills needed to write poems though because then I can share my ideas in ways which people need to figure out. I intend to read more poems and carry out my own in order to become a better writer all round.

Reflection - Friday 16th November 2012
This week during English we only had one lesson which was on the monday. Although missing lessons we were given tasks to do on our book never let me go, my group met up on wednesday and discussed what we had discovered so far in the book. We also talked about what may happen next and our views on what happened in the past.
I believe never let me go is going to be a book which I will enjoy, because after the first two chapters I was confused about who were the clones, whether it was the carers and those staying in the hostel or just one or the other.
I am looking forward to what may happen next in chapters 3 and 4 :)

English Reflection - November 9th 2012
This week during English we discussed idioms and found out about many different uses of idioms through a game we played which consisted of different teams. I found out that there are loads of idioms out there to be discovered, for example I had heard of the simple ones such as "pain in the neck" meaning annoying, yet not I am discovering those such as "golden handshake" which is like a bonus given when joining a company. In my opinion this was my favorite activity this week, because it gave me a wide range of idioms to use in the future.
I am also very proud of the site we made to help the class with our Never Let Me Go study guide which we will be using every week preparing for the exam. I hope we can also make some memorable videos, which will be able to help us remember more of the important topics in the book easily. My target is to contribute a lot in discussion during the period of literature circles in order to fill out our class study guide with more valuable information.
